Rui Barreira is NGPTA’s African Projects Coordinator managing the implementation of ongoing projects and supporting the development of new ones.
He worked for the 12 past years in WWF Mediterranean and ANP|WWF Portugal where he held several technical and managerial positions. In recent years he dedicated his work to the development and implementation of FLR projects in Portugal.
In his free time, Rui enjoy farming, reading history books and play the guitar.
Rose Kobusinge is our Engagement and Communications Officer. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change and Management programme.
She has previously worked with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Uganda) and the National Agriculture Research Institute (NARO-Uganda). She possesses a wide range of experience in natural resources management, forest landscape restoration, biodiversity restoration, circular bioeconomy, stakeholder engagement, communications, policy, research, advocacy and campaigns, gender and youth inclusion. Rose is also a youth climate justice activist.
Abraham Yelley is a Community Liaison Senior Officer in Atebubu and Wiase for the Atebubu and Wiase Forest Landscape Restoration Project, where he is responsible for farmers engagement and technical assistance to Agroforestry component of the project.
He has over 10 years’ experience in Ghana and internationally in environmental and sustainable issues including climate smart Agriculture. Prior to joining NGPTA, He worked as an Agroforestry Project Supervisor at PUR Projet within Western North Region, Ghana led cocoa Agroforestry projects, and as a Field Coordinator of Environmentally Sustainable Production Practices in Cocoa Landscapes, in Juaboso & Bia West Districts. He has also worked with Rainforest Alliance, Agro Eco- Louis Bolk Institute.
Abraham holds B.A Integrated Community Development Studies, Diploma in Education, MSC, Project Management and MPhil, Social Forestry and Environmental Governance from University for Development.
Emmanuel Kwarteng is a Community Liaison Officer in Atebubu and Wiase for the Atebubu and Wiase Forest Landscape Restoration Project.
Before joining NGPTA, I worked with Miroforestry company and Form Ghana as social facilitation and extension officer and field extension officer respectively.
Emmanuel holds a Diploma and a Bsc Certificate in Natural Resources Management and Forest Resources Technology respectively from Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology.
In his free time, he likes to read and watch seasonal movies.
Andrew Heald is based in Edinburgh, Scotland and has over 25 years’ experience in sustainable forest management and forestry policy. He has worked in in Wales, Finland, Uruguay and Ghana, and combines high level consultancy experience with a solid grounding in practical forestry skills.
In addition to his responsibilities as a Director of NGPTA, Andrew is a member of the UK Government’s “Expert Committee on Forest Science” and advises Edinburgh University on a large-scale carbon sequestration project.
